TKM Institute of Technology Central library came into existence in 2002 with a view to preserve and disseminate knowledge to the academic communities. The library is housed on a two-storied building, which is spread over 829 sq.mt.The library includes a good number of books in the field of Engineering and allied subjects and it also has an impressive collection of leading national and international periodicals. The library aims to facilitate acquisition and dissemination of information and knowledge in all areas of engineering education among the academic community. It has good collections of documents like Books, Journals, Learning resources in the field of Engineering & Technology, Science, Management, Literature and Humanities. The library has computerized data of whole of its collections using SOUL software .

Sections of the Library

We have a very good number of reference books that includes Encyclopaedias, Dictionaries, Handbooks, Subject Encyclopaedias, etc. All these sources of information are arranged in this section.

All the technical activities relating to document procurement, classification, cataloging are taken place in this section. Books are classified and arranged according to Dewey decimal classification system (DDC).

Library is fully computerized with LAN, operating on specialized library software SOUL 1.0(Software for University Libraries).The user – friendly package facilitates automated issue-return of books, online public access to catalogue (OPAC) and renewal & reservation of books. All the books are bar coded and bar code scanner is used for book transactions.

Browsing facility is available in the library for staff and students. Document printing and scanning are available at concessional rate to users.

 

 

Institute is a member of the IEEE Student Branch.

Reference books, text books ,journal articles and study materials can be Xeroxed in this section.

Journals and magazines are arranged and kept according to the branch of study.

This section handles the issuing and returning of books.

Library works Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm and Saturdays from 9am to 4 pm. Library is closed on Sundays and public holidays.
